Nwoko Residence

A renovation of a 1950s structure, set on the edge of North Texas. This space was made to accommodate a growing family’s desire to increase their connection with nature, with minimal impact. We concentrated on utilizing what was already in the space, like building a back patio around an old Oak tree. Old tiles were removed to leave space for single blocks of cement that create a clean and clear pathway. You discover playfulness here. Overlapping walkways appear to be floating, porch - roof cut-outs create shadows that move with the day, and a variety of textures create enthusiasm to explore more at every corner.
